Hello. I've got this really bizzare problem, atleast to me, hopefully someone can help. I just replaced my 98' JVC CD/MD head unit with a Sony CDXF-5505X Unit and a MD changer. All I did was change the wiring from the JVC to the Sony and run the changer cable. I left all my Amp settings and RCA cables alone. (Soundstream 5-channel.) Well Nothinf works except for the FM. And it outputs to all speakers. The internal sony amp isnt wired at all. I have used a recorder to confirm that the head unit does output CD and Changer audio from its front channel RCA outs. Im out of ideas, can anyone give me some advice?

you used the power antenna wire as the remote trigger.
change that to teh remote line.
solid blue wire, not blue/white trace.

pwr antenna only works with AM/FM tuner on.

problem solved.

Awesome, thanks for your help. After reading some of the posts in here I was about ready to chuck this Sony. The FM tuner on it is pretty bad. My old higher end JVCs was much better. I hope the sony's CD quality is decent, I also care for its sound stage processor or EQ either. I wanted to go Alpine but I just can't give up my Minidiscs.

yeah and oddly JVC has crappy tuners.

if ya want a good tuner look at alpine, pioneer, or eclipse.
I don't think any offer a MD player though
