My cars pretty big do you think my alternator would run this amp ok? Im not sure of the alternators output.. any ideas? |

Gold Member Username: B101Queen City, NC USA Post Number: 1941 Registered: Sep-05 | most likely u will need a bigger ALT! factory maybe 120 or so, but at idle it maybe like 30amps.. So get a HO alternator maybe 200amps, that will give u about 180 amps at idle.... it will be a HUGE difference! if your $$ is tight, hook it up first, then see if your lights dim slightly.. is that your only amp?? if u need a ALT go here: www.excessiveamperage.com |

Bronze Member Username: Jeffless600Post Number: 44 Registered: Feb-06 | Yea i shoulda got a diffrent sub but o well my H2 is here to stay and i cant upgrade the alternator no matter what so its not an option period. If i got the bx1505d and it drawe to much power would dimming lights and a weak sounding sub be the only problems?? Plus if i kept the sub at a resonable level i doubt id have a real problem..no? My friend has a 12" w7 and a 1000/1 when he turnes it up the lights dim but thats all...he has a small hatchback civiv..my car is a crown vic lol |
