The battery is pretty tiny too. I'm going to have about 1300-1400 rms so I'm definately going to have to upgrade. There's no way I'm dishing out the $1000 for an H.O. alternator, so I talked to a local guy who said he can rewind mine for a reliable 120 - 130 amps, so that'll have to do once I have the money. I want to go ahead and install my stuff now though, so I'm just going to upgrade the battery for now and keep the volume down. I'm thinking I might just put a second battery in the trunk to avoid having to fabricate brackets to fit a bigger one under the hood, so my question is how do I go about wiring a second battery in? |

He said in a stock case, you can claim more power than that in a bench test, but putting a constant load to it will burn it out because it can't dissipate the heat fast enough. It was a fairly high end shop too. "can get a ~150-180A alt for that car at www.4alterstart.com (bout $300)" I saw those on ebay and was considering one. Has anyone bought from them before? Had any problem with their alternators? |
