Bought a new car for $700... Well its not new, It's a fixer upper, and i need some help. Its a 1987 Mercury Cougar, great on outside crap on inside. Car came with stock car speakers and a Durabrand CD Player... I've added 2 12inch Kicker L7's in and enclosed box i paid $300 for subs and box. I bought an SPL 1600w amp for $230 thinking it was going to be able to push these 12's and it doesnt. The actual watts the amp is putting out is barely 400watts to each speaker. I've got about $1000 to spend on fixing the sound in the car. Need suggestions on what to get. Car Speakers, Head Unit, Capacitor and Amp. i can fit 2 6x9's in the back 1 5inch speaker in each door[can make holes bigger]. And 2 speakers up to 3 inches in the dash. Need a Headunit. Give me some Ideas people.. please!
