I already have this amp and posted some questions in another thread about the first set of subs (two 10 inch 10w6) but thanks to advice here I realized this would be a matching problem with my amp.

So, I changed my order to one JL 12w7, and if I am thinking correcly:

The JL is single coil 3 ohm, the Hifonics amp puts out 1000 watts at 2 ohms and 500 at 4, so at 3 ohms I should have 750, which is the RMS on the sub.

Am I thinking correctly here? If so I guess I have a good matchup. I have never heard a w7 before and am looking forward to it!!!!

I have a 12W7 hooked up to a brutus 1500d in a custom sealed enclosure built to specs, in a 01 neon and it pounds. I have had this setup for almost two years now and it never let me down. I think you will be happy with it. I would reccomend a JL 100/1 instead of the brutus. But I know money can be an issue sometimes and the brutus seems to get the job done for the money.
