i have a quad voic coil sub... 3 of the coils are blown out i'm pretty sure..but voic coil number 2 will play and once you turn it up it will shut off... is my sub blown out?
DVC/QVC (not the shopping channel lol) just means the sub has extra wiring configurations.
I don't think you can blow out just 1/2 or 1/4 of the woofer. I think once the voice coil (the copper wiring connected to the pole piece) is blown, THEN your sub is blow.
If your amp is shutting off, that means the VC you're connecting it to is too low of an impedance most likely.
well i threw it in my sunurban yesterday b/c i missed the poor fella....i put a thunder 4250D to it and it plays and all but when i put more watts to it like my thunder 81000D to it.. it shuts off when i turn it up...but it only plays on voic coil #2... so its blown or what
