Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1471 Registered: Aug-05 | Well, I'll be straight honest, I prefer Kenwood's SQ and power output over Pioneer's any day. I've heard a lot of Premier HU's and I thought they sounded a bit dull. I know flat is good, but I'm talking, dead baby dull lol. I didn't hear much in the way of any brightness. Now Alpine, they have pretty good SQ, but their output power is lacking. Honestly though, 4-5V preouts is really plenty. To get much more sensitive is kind of crazy, unless you're looking for absolute SQ or SPL. |

Silver Member Username: PhuktupbassheadPhoenix, Arizona United State... Post Number: 467 Registered: May-05 | This is interesting... So Kenwood has great sound quality, you say? Better than the Premier? Unfortunately, I've heard that Kenwoods don't last very long at all and swallow cd's, flip faces break down, etc, etc. Is all this true? |
Gold Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 3059 Registered: Oct-05 | i know sony sux when it comes to amps and subs but aren't their HU's pretty decent? |
Silver Member Username: GoatinU.S.A Post Number: 527 Registered: Jan-06 | Sony's HU's suck as far as any kind of sound quality goes. But I have had my Xplode HU for 5 years and 4 cars and the only problem I have with it is that it does not have any anti-shock memory or not a very good one at least. I have used this HU to the point of the paint on the buttons is starting to wear off but evrything to this day (**knock on wood**) is working flawlessly. |

Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1503 Registered: Aug-05 | ^^^Yet again, this is opinion! Why don't you go to a local shop and listen to a few different brands. Us bickering here about which is best kind of pointless. You're the one who has to listen to your system, so only you can truly decide . |

Many Many great features on this one. Can be bought for $220 or less online. 2076_58530983_291094587%2C00.html,http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/premier/ product/specs/0,,2076_58530983_291094587,00.html |

Silver Member Username: TafkamTexas Post Number: 237 Registered: Apr-04 | I got a premier 860 last summer off of eBay and I think it was around 330 which is slightly above your budget, but I am sure the non color ones are cheaper. As it turns out I would not have gotten color I could live with blue or whatever but in any case it has been a very impressive head unit, it does way more than I could ever need. |
Silver Member Username: Algirard1OH United States Post Number: 145 Registered: Dec-04 | I also got the premier 860 a while ago off of ebay for around 220. I love this head unit. It has everything I could ever want. Its a great head unit! I would suggest the 860 if you can afford it. |
