Ok, skip the Solobaric series subs. Bad idea. Get the CVX woofers. You won't have all the spider/surround problems, and you'll have MUCH better sound quality, and still get your high numbers you're looking for!

I'm 18, and I've been around here, as well as I have a dad who's extremely knowledgeable about audio and electronics and MUCH MUCH more. But sometimes, he tells me more than what I wish to know...

Anyways, just stick around, you'll start getting the idea of how stuff works, just takes time. I think the CVX will be as good if not better than the powerplant. The CVX is a ROUND L7. Sure, it doesn't push as much of the claimed air...But if the excursion is increased to make up for lack of surface area, I don't see how it'd be a supposed problem...

Of course, excursion is just one of the many things that lead to greater SPLs.

Anyways, go with the CVX. It's in the same price range, and will be very loud. Also, you could look into the Ascendant Audio Assassin, or something from Digital Designs. RE Audio has 12" subwoofers that are very nice and loud with SQ as well. There's a lot more options out there other than Kicker.

I'd put the new CV V-Max up against the CVX anyday. That's the idea behind most if not all CV products, be able to handle a lot of power, but still play loudly with good sound quality with LESS power.

It's a neat concept. AA has adopted a similar concept with their new line, but they have better sound quality, and are louder yet.

well ok another question...if I would go with the L7s or teh CVX either or....there watts are 750watt rms and 1500max...ok..since I only have 1 A8002T amp.. 1600 max.... I wouldn't push them all the way...so would that hurt them or what?

if u like those kickers - try the new CVX which said 2 be better than the previuos models , haven't heard it yet though ....

u should always get an amp that is slightly oversized . So like in ur case where u its rec 1500wrms i would get a true 2000wrms amp or 2 1000wrms each amps

like RF T200001bd (there aren't many 2000wrms amps mostly 2500wrms amps models)

or 2 hifonics bx1205d if on a budget
maybe 1 of these http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3506 .....
