3 questions about power wire in general

(1)Is there any difference between Welding power wire(like the ones at weldingsupply.com) and regular car audio power wire?(2)Would welding wire be OK to run to your amp?(3)When i do the Big 3 upgrade what if i cant find the engine to chassis ground can that be bypassed by something else or will i just have to look harder :-)

1. No real difference - aside from the fact that welding cable can be nearly impossible to bend or run around any corners... it's not flexible stuff for the most part.

2. Yes, it'd be ok to run to your amp.

3. You can use any bolt on your engine block. A common place to upgrade this wire is where your alternator actually bolts onto your engine.

i'm guessing caf is Caraudioforum.com...?

but yea Joseph...to tell the truth, i would run welding cable for power wire before i would even think about "car audio" wire.

for one...welding cable is made to take the abuse of a work environment. the outer jacket is much stronger than car audio wire. Its not gonna be a pretty as car audio wire...but if you get the red from weldingsupply.com, it looks pretty good. (~$43.50 shipped for 25ft of red 1/0...for most vehicles, that enough for your amp power and ground and big-3)

I prefer knukonceptz.com.. Their 0 gauge also has like 1,000 extra strands of wire over standard 1/0 gauge.. And it's not too much more than the welding cable mentioned.. (25 feet would come to $58.75)
