Silver Member Username: Jprix82Post Number: 273 Registered: Jan-06 | Can you see how many watts your amp is putting out(bench test)with a DMM? |
Gold Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 2286 Registered: Sep-04 | yes but not how many clean watts. youd need an osciliscope or however u spell it. amps x voltage = watts ... i think thats the formula. if its a true rms dmmm anyway. if not take the final product and multiply by .707 |
Silver Member Username: Jprix82Post Number: 274 Registered: Jan-06 | So its - AMPS x 14.4 = ??? x .707 ? how do you find the amps? |

Silver Member Username: Jprix82Post Number: 275 Registered: Jan-06 | whats a clamp meter? |
Gold Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 2295 Registered: Sep-04 | no, AC voltage form the amplifier. not your battery voltage. a clamp meter clamps around the positive wire going to the sub. it willl read the amps running through the wire. now have a dmm hooked up to the outputs and read the AC voltage. now multiply. |

But clamp meters are not very accurate the only true way to tell is to checkt he actual wire you could get a really high number or really low number depending on the placement of the meter its a guessing game you will never have it 100% perfect with a clamp. but then again i have a $330 top of the line fluke clmap on dmm and thats the same way i would go just saying its not all that accurate |
