New member Username: NissankickerGrambling, LA USA Post Number: 3 Registered: Mar-06 | KICKER is good, but I wouldn't do it, b/c most people that have kicker amps have a tendency to turn the gain ALL THE WAY UP! and destroy the amp and the speaker. THE ALPINE R only hold 500 watts rms, actually only 400rms if you wanna get technical! I'd suggest a cheaper amp that says it pushs 500-900, better yet an INTERFIRE amp would do nicely ( it's seen that setup ) |

I should get my provisional by june though so i could get a job & sh!t. Im planning ahead of time though as soon as i can sell my sub and beg my moms 4 sum money ill buy at least a type r to power by my PA amp till i can get a job and buy a better amp. |

Gold Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 2889 Registered: Oct-05 | hey TJ, jim's amp would be perfect for your type r. if its a 4ohm version you can run it at 2 ohms to get 600wrms from the kx1200.1. later on when you decide to buy another type r then you can hook it up to this amp and utilize the full 1200wrms. actually this amp puts out more than its rated power. you can't beat the price he is asking |
