(all in all the coaxials are not nearly as good) |
Silver Member Username: PelonaPost Number: 833 Registered: Dec-05 | THEY DONT MAKE THOSE THE XR COAXIALS IN 4". BUT THE XR COAXIALS LOOK PRETTY GOOD CUZ THEY STILL COME WITH THEIR OWN CROSSOVER. |
Gold Member Username: Suleman36Maryland U.S.A. Post Number: 3206 Registered: Feb-05 | I whould go with the CDT's in this case. They are more natural sounding and smoother. I whould recommend this set over those http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3365 or http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3066 if you like it to sound smoother and nicer overall. |

Gold Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 2218 Registered: Sep-04 | are you looking to put a set in front and set in back? if so put components up front. theres a reason the component sets are more money |
Silver Member Username: PelonaPost Number: 839 Registered: Dec-05 | 4" in front 6.5" in back i cant put components in front cuz the speakers are in the dash. so i need coaxials. |

Silver Member Username: AlteraudiousaConcord Post Number: 347 Registered: Jan-06 | Pelon, what car are these going into? 4in up front sounds American. Also what is your budget? i can help you out if you go CDT. I prefer the EF or the CL and as for the JL's not bad but I wouldn't say there was anything hugely difference in terms of CL and XR when i listened to them on a sound wall. Also why not get the CL-41 component set? Email me at tech@alteraudiousa.com and give me a little more info and I'll help you out. |
Silver Member Username: PelonaPost Number: 840 Registered: Dec-05 | ITS A TOYOTA. ALTERAUDIO, UR ALWAYS RECOMENDING CDTS. I THINK UR JUST TRYING TO MAKE A SALE. THOSE JLS WERE THE BEST SPEAKERS I COULD FIND THAT DOESNT HAVE A SEPERATE TWEETER. |
Bronze Member Username: MrmikelazottIndependence, Oregon Post Number: 84 Registered: Dec-05 | Pelon, what kind of toyota, what year. i had a '86 corolla. it was brown with blue doors. it was the sweetest car ever. it had 180,000 miles on it, and i could still burn out like crazy, until the tire seperated off the rim when i was going like 85 and it shot me head on into a tree. that was the day before i got married. everyone that stopped was like freaking out and they all said that if it would have been them, they would have died. a little off topic, but i loved my toy. plan i buying another. |
Silver Member Username: AlteraudiousaConcord Post Number: 348 Registered: Jan-06 | I don't think I need to say why I talk about CDT, since i've had the most use with them even beofre I decided to sell them, people are asking for opinions and believe for the price they're sold at are hard to beat on performance, yeah i'll mention CDT. And I think you did post CDT yourself and since I have knowledge on it, why not post about it. If I was making a sale i'd post prices but I never do. And have you actually heard other ones out there. I'd actually try the Boston Acoustic or Pioneer Rev series. Also polk Momo coaxs aren't too bad. Spending close to 200$ on rach set of coaxs is a waste. I'd look into getting some kicks or something for your car and getting a good front stage. |

THE REAL PELON Unregistered guest | it looks like they dont even come with a tweeter. how much do they cost? u think they better than the jl xr coaxials? i like the jls cuz unlike normal coaxials, they still comew with their own crossover |
Gold Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 2301 Registered: Sep-04 | is that tweet built into the cone? how can they do that? i dont get howthe cone can move witht he extra mass... |
Gold Member Username: Jonathan_fGA USA Post Number: 5700 Registered: May-04 | "is that tweet built into the cone? how can they do that? i dont get howthe cone can move witht he extra mass..." Nope, it's concentrically mounted to the inside of the woofer voice coil. Morel has an external voice coil on their motors (they license from Dynaudio), the woofer cone and the tweeter are separate and move independantly. It's just that the woofer and tweeter are in a point source configuration. They sound great and are really easy to set up. IMO the best alternative to a component system. |
THE REAL PELON Unregistered guest | how do those morels stack up against the jl xrs? |

Gold Member Username: Jonathan_fGA USA Post Number: 5716 Registered: May-04 | If you really want some good coaxials for not a lot of money, check these Vifas out: http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?cart_id=3244711.25216&pid=1301 http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?cart_id=3244711.25216&pid=2014 It'll cost around $180 for the pair w/ crossovers and will perform much better than those previously mentioned. Just won't look quite as pretty. |
Silver Member Username: PelonaPost Number: 842 Registered: Dec-05 | do those vifas come in 4" too? |

Here's the main page to the Vifa autosound drivers. http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?exact_match=yes&product=VIA&cart_id=3 244711.25216 They have a crossover for that one, too, but it's not on the site. You'll have to e-mail or call them about it. |
