Straight SQ sub

It has superb transient response, and hits every note accurately. It is a SQ sub not a SQL sub. a 10w6v2 in a small sealed enclosure will be perfect for what he wants

Another sub that is cheaper that would do a great job for his wants is the Image Dynamics IDQ. Dyn MW190 is a very smooth, very open and airy sounding sub. Not really a powerful sub, more dry and musical in it's production. Matches their comps very nicely.
