Bronze Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 31 Registered: Sep-05 | Just looking for some expert opinions. I need to choose between 2 amps to power 2 12" 6 ohm DVC JL Audio W6s. Either: Directed Audio 1200T or Orion 8002 Thank you. |

If it is it will work supplying 300 watts to each sub. The directed will supply 475 watts at 1.5 ohms which is a little on the high side. I doubt you will get that rated power out of either amp being rated at 14.4 volts but still on the high side. I ran 3-10w6v1's with 600(clean true) watts 200/piece and they sounded amazing. I don't know how much you are spending but in all honesty the jl 500/1 will work very well for you wired at 1.5 ohms. |

Bronze Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 37 Registered: Sep-05 | Also, are there any box suggestions for these subs? Ported, sealed, slotted? Looking to spend $50 to $100. The subs are actually the alternative ones. I listed them as JLs because I knew I would probably get a lot of questions on that part of it. Here are the specs as listed on the store website. Vas 5.73 cubic feet Qts 0.433 Power handling 350 Watts RMS (continuous) recommended sealed enclosure size for the 12 is:1.25 cubic feet For ported enclosures, the 12 needs 2 cubic feet |
