Silver Member Username: Terry6405Sullivan, IN US Post Number: 322 Registered: Sep-05 | when RE says that a 12"sx should be in a 1.9 cu ft box tuned to 32hz does that 1.9 include or disclude the port and sub displacement? in other words sould it be 1.9 cu ft total? or bigger? this is what i was gonna do http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/ported-box.asp?Ew=32&Eh=16&Dia=6&Xmax=21&Vd=0.1 6&NumW=1&Vb=1.9&Fb=32&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0 look ok? or i might tune it to 30 hz http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/ported-box.asp?Ew=32.5&Eh=16&Dia=6&Xmax=22&Vd=. 16&NumW=1&Vb=1.9&Fb=30&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0 or mabey even this? http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/ported-box.asp?Ew=32.5&Eh=16.5&Dia=6&Xmax=21&Vd =0.16&NumW=1&Vb=1.9&Fb=30&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0 what do you think? would they work? which is best? i like the last one because of some simple measurements what do you think? |

Silver Member Username: Terry6405Sullivan, IN US Post Number: 324 Registered: Sep-05 | 32 sounds fine to me, but sould i make it a little bigger than that? mabey like this http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/ported-box.asp?Ew=32&Eh=16.5&Dia=6&Xmax=21&Vd=. 16&NumW=1&Vb=2.25&Fb=32&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0 or if i wanted absolutely no room left in my trunk... http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/ported-box.asp?Ew=32&Eh=16.5&Dia=6&Xmax=21&Vd=. 16&NumW=1&Vb=2.5&Fb=32&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0 actually, that came out way simpler, i might just do that, barely any bigger anyways ah, what-the-hell http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/ported-box.asp?Ew=32&Eh=16.5&Dia=6&Xmax=21&Vd=. 16&NumW=1&Vb=2.75&Fb=32&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0 what do you think about those, i like the last 2, but is 2.75 cu ft too big? what do you think btw the drive displacement is factored in on this calculator |
Silver Member Username: Terry6405Sullivan, IN US Post Number: 326 Registered: Sep-05 | this is what im goin with http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/ported-box.asp?Ew=32&Eh=16&Dia=6&Xmax=21&Vd=.16 &NumW=1&Vb=2.5&Fb=32&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0 but where should i put the sub? i would think on the left side of the red board (next to the port) so the air circulates throught the whole box, but the single sub diagram on RE audio has it on the opposite side? does it matter? |
Gold Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 1891 Registered: Sep-04 | im not sure exactly what would be the difference, but everyone always does it on the oposite side of the port. i think thats where it would look best too, id just do it that way, on the right side. |
Silver Member Username: Terry6405Sullivan, IN US Post Number: 327 Registered: Sep-05 | ok, but i think i changed my mind on the box cuz i want a little more port area just to be safe hows this look http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/ported-box.asp?Ew=32&Eh=16.5&Dia=6&Xmax=24.75&V d=.16&NumW=1&Vb=2.5&Fb=32&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0 i just made the xmax higher to get more port area, if this looks ok thats what im doing for sure |

Silver Member Username: Terry6405Sullivan, IN US Post Number: 330 Registered: Sep-05 | no the liquid nails has to dry, thats pretty much all i did today, actually i dont even have the sub i just wanted to compit to it because if i didnt i would change my mind, cuz im an idiot. it was fun building though, all i had was a circular saw and a drill so it was kinda difficult. came out clean considering that thought. i think i might drop one ov my vmax's in just for fun tomarro ill proble get the sub next week or so |
Silver Member Username: Terry6405Sullivan, IN US Post Number: 331 Registered: Sep-05 | *commit not compit after i get it carpeted or whatever i decide, i will probly take pictures of eveything and post it in the bragging section COMMING SOON: "The Teal-Mobile" --oldschool 89 accord |
