tuneing changes when there is more than one port

what im saying is if you have 3 4inch ports 15.5 inches long and you have 1 6.8inch appx port 15.5inches long they will have a different tune. also, slot ports and square ports that are same length have a different tune. the slot ports tune would be lower. also the single port tune over the multiple port tune would be lower.

nothing .. if u have a square port with a lets say 20 " cross section and a round port with the same and they are tuned to the same frequency there will be no difference.. a port, no matter what the shape is to tune a box to a specific frequency.. and so long as its big enough to avoid port noise (unpleasant sound when ports are to small) it wont make a difference... the bigger thing to worry about is the placement of ports on a box..

not so, a slot port does not need as much length as a round port or square port to get as low of a tune. this is because a slot port uses the enclosures wall as part of the port. check it out for yourself.

put in a net volume, a tuning frequency, then select square port. put NOT a slot port. put in your port H and W. now find port legnth. change form NOT slot port to SLOT PORT and you will find the port length gets shorter.

oh oops sorry, yes that is correct, if tuned to the same frequency there shouldnt really be a difference. people like slot ports though because you can get a larger port area easier with them over round ports which will reduce chance or port noise. that is why there are flared ports for a smoother transition of air flow.
