What gauge wire for 1200 watt amp?

d3athb4dishonor Unregistered guest	Posted on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 02:14 GMT question. What gauge should be used for a 1200 watt amp? Would a 4 gauge wire work or would it be too small? Also does it matter what brand of wire? All packages say different.
