(my MKII 10" cost me $369 in 2004, it was an amazing sub) |

Gold Member Username: SouthernrebelMonroe, Louisiana USA Post Number: 1998 Registered: Mar-04 | yes...600wrms, the new MKIII brahma's are supposed to be really efficient. the MKII's were rated for 1600wrms, but they didnt nearly need that much to get moving. ~600wrms for the MKII 10" was plenty. that 1600w rating was just the thermal rating of the coil. |

Post Number: 2087 Registered: May-05 | the handling is the same as the previous model. as marshall stated, the new models are based on a rating system more standard to car audio and not pro audio & others (IEC 268-5) as was the previous model. however, adire has always maintained that the power handling would be enclosure based, and even the recent 600w estimate is just that (an estimate). i would place the practical range in the same 600-800w region. i failed horribly at running mine off of 1600/sub because i thought i had no choice. handling was suggested by adire to be just fine in .75cuft. needless to say i'm expecting mine back from recone this week. found out that my soundstreams are 2ohm stable after all. so i can use just one of my amps to put 900 to each sub no prob. and no need to run the 1600 from each amp. |
