Power problems, need second battery?

hey, my system has been good at eating up my $ fast. just yesterday i bought a cap for my 1200 wat nitro amp, and upgraded the wireing from the batery from a 8 gage to a 4 gage. now my subs are sounding great but when im not moving or accelerating while my bass is on my car totaly dies and turns off. i have found that my few months new alternater has had alot of stress on it from before i got my cap, but is way to $ to buy another new one. my idea is to add a second battery but the battery is gona cost alot extra to instal, due to space, under my my 90 bronco hood. my question is, how elce, or where elce can i put the battery? is it possible to some how connect it in the back with my subs using the 4 gage wire going to my cap and amp?
thxs

You need a new alternator. A capacitor just adds more strain to your alternator, and will kill it faster. :-)

You *NEED* a high output alternator, there is no way around this. If it's too much $, either live with your vehicle turning off, or turn the volume down.. :-) Adding a new battery will just put even more strain on your alternator, and only prolong the point of your car turning itself off.

HO alternators arent even that much more than a new battery. Go to www.excessiveamperage.com, I got a 200 amp one for under $300.

But seth he only has a Nitro amp....which means he only spent maybe 80 bucks on it so even spending 300 bucks on an alt ( altho its very cheap ) would be too much to do for a cheapo Amp

i suggest he just get a second battery at wal mart for 50 bucks.. an since he drives a bronco im sure he can figure a way to ventilate it because we all know you dont wanna put a normal battery in a cars cab unless you can vent it.. i would suggest he go with yellowtops but that would also be far too much to spend when you only have a cheapo nitro amp to began with

give us a link for the amp - or a model number.
Also do you have a bronco or bronco II? V6? V8? 302? 351?

Your cap didn't help and unless there is a very unusual problem with you current battery I can't see replacing that helping either.

lol, so nitros cheep, i must have gotten totaly riped if CadillacDb says its only 80 when i spent over 230 for it. but ya, the alt is a new one, same with the battery, that they both upgraded to be stronger. The only problem with the alt is before i had the cap, i put alot of strain and stress on it. I think im just going to do with not bassing out at max and keep it light ont the rap. But thxs a ton for the help

ok, you have a 75 or 80 amp alt an those 1200watt 2 channel nitros claim they are 600rms so if this is true ur amp alone needs about 45/50 amps an ur car probably needs the same so you need atleast a 100amp alt .. i usually dont tell people just to add a battery but i figured you paid almost nothing for the amp but since u say u paid 230 it shouldnt be too much to look on ebay for a 100amp alt, probably get it for 150 shipped because the car is an older model

Link to a 160 amp alt for ur car thats under $150
