Ground and power

I have 10 guage power and ground wire on my amp but people have been tellin me i need 8 guage

is this a huge problem? the sub an amp seem to work fine with the way it is

8 is a bit thicker wire, how big is your amps?
If its a small amp, your prob ok.

You're at the limits of 10 ga, but I don't think there's any reason to make the change unless you just want to, or you're considering an upgrade.

Unless you have HO alternator, it won't do much with stock.
Another thing, unless you listen to music at max volume, 10 gauge will be fine. If not, do upgrade to 8 gauge.
After the upgrade, don't expect a miracle. You won't notice it by ear.
