Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 4628 Registered: Dec-04 | lol I was all set on the ID max now I am having second opinions. I wish Baseball1187 never showed me that damn link, he is like a little AA fierry everytime I start to look at something else he shows me new links or new info lol! They look nice the only complaint I had with the ava is the upper end but this seems to cover that gap nicely for the price untill feb 10th you can't go wrong. Also they put the info for the havoc up on the website I think you will all be pleased |

Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 4630 Registered: Dec-04 | The Havoc is Ascendant Audio's flagship statement in output. We mean it too. This subwoofer plays insanely loud. Clean and controlled, it handles anything that you throw at it and then some. It overwhelms with its bone-crushing output and rock solid build quality. Even so, we didn't forget about sound quality. With the help of a massive magnet stack, the Havoc's motor sports a BL of almost 30. It uses dual spaced spiders to keep the cone and voice coil from rocking even when pushed to extreme levels. This allows the Havoc to achieve a tight, powerful magnetic gap as well as high reliability at the kind of playback levels it craves. Woven tinsel leads further prevent any noise or failures. At this level of performance, every design element must be precise and downright overbuilt. We have not overlooked a single detail. Unlike most every other SPL oriented subwoofer, the Havoc is still optimized for sound quality. To step it up to the next level, it has been equipped with dual aluminum shorting rings. One ring is located on top of the pole piece while the other lines the entire inner diameter of the magnets. These help the Havoc achieve a very low inductance of 1.1 mH. The second shorting ring also works as a heat sink. It helps transfer voice coil heat out to the top and bottom plates. The Havoc has the high output capabilities of SPL subwoofers, but not the sonic drawbacks. You no longer have to settle for mediocre sound quality in order to get extreme high output. Designed to play ridiculously loud and still sound crystal clear, this subwoofer design is truly one of a kind. The Havoc gives you everything. If you want to get loud, you have to wreak Havoc... Gold Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 2073 Registered: Oct-05 | this is the response i got from chad kuypers about the arsenals. Thanks for your reply. The Arsenal is MUCH flatter up top than the Avalanche. That was one of the main reasons for the driver re-design. The Arsenal is literally 7-8 dB LOUDER than the Avalanche ~80 Hz. It has the low end of the Avalanche, but it is ruler flat up high. In fact, it is even flatter than the Atlas in frequency response up high. We will actually be posting graphs on our website comparing all of our drivers. To see what I am talking about, look at the graph of the Avalanche 12 versus the Arsenal 12. Look at the difference in the top end, and notice how it still has more output at tuning. The difference in sound, thanks to the extended high end, is like night and day. The Arsenal sounds like it is just what you are looking for in this regard. As always, let me know if you have any more questions and I will be happy to answer them, Chad Kuypers Ascendan Audio |
