Due to being on the road a lot and all of the various music/video/radio options I use, I have decided to revamp the current stock Nakamichi system with something else (it has served its purpose well since buying the car in 1999)...
My key criteria is: 1. Single integrated head unit that can easily control all sources 2. Must have a clickable screen interface as well 3. Must work well with iPod (currently have the Drive/Play unit for this) 4. Must support Sirius sat radio (currently have a detached, separate unit for this) 5. Must integrate with satelite navigation 6. Should play DVD movies
NOTE: I have no plans on replacing the existing speaker system in the car as it does the job just fine.
Having done some research, Alpine seems to have a pretty solid solution (my main concern is that I haven't used Alpine's products for 7+ years and so do not know how well they perform).
Head unit: Alpine IVA-D310 (with iPod and Sirius add-on) Sat Nav unit: Alpine NVE-N872A
Please let me know your experiences with this setup. Also, do I need to look at any other additional components to make this project work well? My car is a 1999 Lexus LX470 (big SUV).
