(just thought this thread title might help... basically same question as in: Who remembers those HU's that flipped over completely to deter theives...)

So, all I need to know is
who makes em? model #'s (if possible)?

Thanks.

the only one on the market now is the kenwood KDCX-689 but they are VERY prone to damaging the ribbon cable.

Is it that bad???

I mean, will I regret buying one?
Basically, would it be a good unit - or am I better off going to the casino if I feel like gambling so much?

When you say, "on the market", what do you mean?

The only one that anyone makes right now is that unit that flips over on itself

some people have good luck with them, some people have bad luck with them, you should get a good 2 - 3 years good use out of them, usually you'll be upgrading by then anyways.

If you are going to buy it from a shop, i would highly suggest getting that extended warranty thing on it, you'll use it for sure.

thanks, vincent...

is the quality of the head unit NOT EVEN CLOSE to that of an alpine or eclipse? or would you say I'd be very happy with it?

(i don't want it to suck me into buying it JUST because of the feature... I'd like it to sound GREAT too... thanks for you opinions and advise. Please respond.)
