Arrghh ... my Kenwood car stereo stopped working a week after warranty expired.

I was getting TOC errors while playing burned CDRWs and didn't realize this was probably caused by a dirty CD. Anyways, last week I tried to load a cdrw and the headunit made a funny noise and spit out the cd. I have tried diff types of burnt, store bought brand new cds and still no luck ... it takes the cd in but cant read it and spits it back out.

My question is there any suggestions on how to fix this problem ? I called Kenwood but they need me to take out the headunit and godness nows what the will charge .. same goes for the car stereo place that originally installed it ... I pay for everything becuase it is past 1 yr!!

it was a replacement for my JVC that got stolen (msrp $250) .. I wasnt sure if there was just dirt in the loading mechanism or if there was actually something mechanical that probably needs to be fixed / replaced (which would probably cost $200) .. sigh

I even tried one of those cd lens cleaners but no luck ;-(
