just had 2 alpine type r 1242 12"s installed, each powered with a phoenix gold 400.1 amp. can anybody help with the settings of the amp? right now it sounds kinda lousy. i listen to rap so i want it booming, but not all distorted. also the box the subs in are a bit bigger the the rec. specs for a sealed box, would getting a smaller box greatly improve the bass/volume?
