Monday, January 02, 2006 - 21:38 GMT my friend wants me to put new speakers in his truck. the amp is a jl audio 300/4 75rms x 4 @4ohms(but i think its underrated, more like 90rms x 4 @4ohms) he was powering alpine type S 6.5" components that are 50rms and blew them all.i think the amp was too strong for the them. are there any other components that run well with this amp and i want the tweeter to fit in the same location the type S tweeters were.(they were flush on the door)

Monday, January 02, 2006 - 21:57 GMT yeah, the type S Alpines haven't been known to take much power, good stock replacements though. look into boston acoustics, they seem to take anything you throw at them.

Monday, January 02, 2006 - 22:08 GMT i was also thinking of the type x spx-177r that are 75rms.i think thats a perfect match to the amp. do you think the tweeters will fit in the same location without anymore modification?
