Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 02:56 GMT would L7s still be louder even though they were only getting 600watts a piece to them with the kicker kx 1200.1?

Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 03:16 GMT that amp is under-rated the L7's might not be underpowered.

Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 03:16 GMT the 1200.1 is kinda designed for 2 12 l7s actually..... but ice, i'll bump up your self esteem i think they are CAPABLE of 140 (and higher by a professional) but if you dont do things right you'll be seeing that low 130 number...

Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 03:19 GMT well, see, i got these L5s for xmas but if i return them and get the money it'll only be like a hundred more for the L7s which is worth it. but how well does the kicker kx 1200.1 wired at 1 ohm power them? i dont want insufficiently-powered subs.

Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 04:17 GMT It will be fine. That amp is under-rated like I said before. I blew a couple of 10" L7's with my friend's Kx 1200.1. The 10" L7's are rated at 600 watts rms too. I think he put the gain up too much. lol

Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 04:28 GMT That amp will push out more than 1200 watts at 1 ohm.

Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 04:38 GMT so you'd recommend goin ahead and throwin down the extra 100 for the L7's how big of a difference do they make? what could i hit with two 12 L7s in an ext cab chevy with the kicker kx 1200?

Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 04:57 GMT the L7's will be louder, probally around 5-8db, so with a proper enclouser i bet it would be around 140-145db.

Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 05:04 GMT that amps does about 1450 that's what they average on the test sheets so power would not be a problem for the L7 you should be able to get 140 easily.

Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 07:01 GMT ice if u get the kicker kx1200.1 it is very underrated.... it will pump out fonr 1400 to about 1490 watts so it would be very nice for ur L7's if u get them.... if u stick with the L5's u will need to turn ur amp down a ways to get them to 600 rms each and here is the way that u wire ur subs to ur amp...

Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - 09:49 GMT my L5's were loud as hell when I had them. They couldn't handle my everyday use though and fried after about a month. Now i got RL-p's and they are even louder than the L5's were and sound much better.
