if youve heard them in both a sealed or ported box, which did you like better. i know its personal opinion, and im going to build 2 boxes, one for each, but ill take some outside advice to see which one i want to build first
well i used to have the 12" re se with the xxx softparts. i had it in ported at first than i changed it to sealed. the sealed sounded better but ported sounded alot louder and still sounded pretty good. still sealed was better for me.
have a 15" SE and working on a 2cuft sealed box for it. Matt, it comes down to what you are looking for. SQ is way above SPL in my book, therefore, sealed is the route im taking. you know that a ported box will deffinitly get louder but not hold the same SQ. either box with that sub is going to sound pretty damn good, no matter what direction youre taking.
