Anonymous | would the orion 1600.2 amp power two alpine type-r 12"? how will it sound? 350 WRMS x 2 @ 4 ohms, 420 WRMS x 2 @ 2 Ohms (CEA 2006 Compliant) 2 channel class AB amp and the type-r's are 500rms a piece. Silver Member Username: Islandboy808Mililani, Hawaii US Post Number: 311 Registered: Nov-05 | try and get a mono amp for the Rs.if u get the 4 ohm dvc u can wire it to get a 1 ohm load and a 4 ohm load,so that amp wont work right.maybe a hifonics bx1500d a little overrated but it ll work fine for 1000 watts rms.and it is also 1 ohm stable. |

Silver Member Username: Islandboy808Mililani, Hawaii US Post Number: 312 Registered: Nov-05 | orion imo is alot better then the hifonics,but that amp is not 1 ohm stable to run the 4ohm Rs.but the kicker is perfect for 4 ohm dvc type Rs.i had the same setup with the hifonics amp and it hit hard.but i just bought a refurbished orion 1500d amp from www.ikesound.com for about 230 shipped. |

Anonymous | nah, i don't really want to buy a refurbished amp, but is the kicker kx 1200.1 worth payin about $200 more for versus buyin the hifonics 1500d for $220? if yes, how much of a difference will the kicker make over the hifonics? |
