Friday, December 23, 2005 - 04:10 GMT u get what u pay for. rule of thumb, new amp around $1/watt or more (sometimes less). used usually half that. try the Coustic 401DB. It's monoblocked and (what you need) 2 ohm stable. Plus they rarely overheat. It's only 400 watt rms, but i have one hooked up to my 2 subs (1000 rms each) and hit a 146.7 at my last DB Drag event. They're listed at almost $400, but you can usually get one for under $200

Friday, December 23, 2005 - 12:49 GMT Just for the record, the $1 per watt is far out dated. Look at some of the best amps available.. a JL 1000 watt amp can be had online for under $700 even.

Friday, December 23, 2005 - 12:57 GMT also... 146.7 dB with only 400 watts? What size box? What type of subs? What frequency? Where was it metered at? What did they use to measure it? You should get it metered on a termlab. I promise you, you wont be hitting even 140 dB with 400 watts RMS at the dash, legal.

Friday, December 23, 2005 - 22:09 GMT then u would need 8 of those amps. lol. if u had a 300 rms amp and that is the bridged power you wouldnt be able to even run 1 of those subs because u will be underpowering them so much.
