Sunday, December 18, 2005 - 07:07 GMT someone told me today that the hifonics bx1605 will blow my DVC mtx9500. he said that the wattage won't blow it, but that the amp is very dirty and will distort so much causing the speaker to blow. from what i've heard, hifonics is overrated, but decent sound quality.

Sunday, December 18, 2005 - 19:40 GMT i think what your friend is alluding to is that the hifonics doesn't produce clean power b/c it's overrated. if in compensating you clip the signal and present a square wave, you'll introduce twice the power to your sub, heat the vc, and potentially destroy the driver.
