New member Username: StevestewaPost Number: 7 Registered: Dec-05 | Ok, here's my situation. I just bought 2 10" mtx 8500's and an mtx T7801 amp. My problem is that the subs I bought have a 4 ohm load instead of the 2 ohm load that I meant to buy. At 4 ohms the amp doesn't put out nearly enough power. My question is should I just exchange the subs for the ones with a 2 ohm load or would there be a big enough difference in SQ and SPL to justify upgrading to an amp that will put out enough power for the 4 ohm subs? |

Gold Member Username: AraknidBOCA , FL U.S. Post Number: 1422 Registered: Nov-04 | I found this info on the amp and says it puts out 600 watts at 1 ohm. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem%26item%3D5840372356&category=64573 If those are DVC 4 ohms then they will work perfect. |

Bronze Member Username: Ruxpin20DeTroiT, MIchiGan Post Number: 28 Registered: Oct-05 | i know, i hate companies that do that, its kinda lying to the customer or fooling them, bc they think that they are getting 1200 watts but really most of the time its 200 less.... |
Gold Member Username: AraknidBOCA , FL U.S. Post Number: 1424 Registered: Nov-04 | Well the guy on ebay said the RMS was 600 watts x 1 @ 1 ohm. So if he does have the DVC 4 ohm subs he can wire them to a 1 ohm load and get 300 per sub. |
Silver Member Username: TjmutlowPost Number: 433 Registered: Sep-05 | that sub only comes dual 4 or single 4, use the dual 4 subs, the amp is 1ohm stable and has parrallel wiring capabilities on it. See wiring diagram for help. |
