A crossover and an amplifier are two totally different entities, you need each for different purposes. Generally, a crossover will complement the amplifier. An amplifier amplifies a signal, makes your speakers run. A crossover takes an input signal and generally break the frequencies up. Like on my amp for my sub. I have a LPF and HPF, so that I only run frequencies between about 20hz to 90hz to it. As Rovin said, most amps come with built in crossovers. |
