Silver Member Username: Safa19Post Number: 157 Registered: Apr-05 | I am looking to get an amp for my speakers. i have 4 infinities that are 4ohm 100watts rms each and i was wondering if i get the orion 4002, which is 200watts rms x2 at 2ohms will i be able to hook up one channel to the left side and one channel to the right side? So, i would have 2 speakers on one channel at a 2 ohm load but the speakers are 4ohm speakers, is that ok? and would it deliver 100watts to eack speaker? so pretty much what im asking is that can i hook 2 4ohm speakers up 2 one channel and have it be running at 2ohms? |

Silver Member Username: Safa19Post Number: 158 Registered: Apr-05 | i have no idea dvc or svc, they are infinity kappa's, and i wouldnt use a mono amp i would use a 2 channel because to get 100watts at 4ohm in an amp means i would have to go with the orion 8004 and im trying to save some money, so i was told i could wire a 2 channel to the left side and one 2 the right and then they would be at 2 ohm cause they ahve 2 4ohm speakers |

Silver Member Username: Safa19Post Number: 159 Registered: Apr-05 | i would be using it for 2 infinity kappa 63.5i (6.5" 3ways)and 2 693.5i speakers (6x9" 3ways). I tried to find out if they are dvc or svc but i cant find it anywhere, they have an external cross over if that helps but other than that idk and no im not using that for my subs i am going to get the orion 1200D for subs. |

Post Number: 3659 Registered: Jul-05 | ok - i now realised u originally were talking about running speakers alone & not subs off a 4chan amp - my bad but i understand now Most speakers only come in 4ohms as far as i remember seeing ... so 6.5 = 75wrms 6x9 = 100 wrms if u use 2 chans off that amp it does 2 X 200 @ 4 Ohm & if u connect (2) 4ohms speakers together it = a 2ohms load proper thing 2 do is buy the 8004 model instead - search ebay ....... |
