Whats up all ! I'm having some issues popping fuses in my van . I'm running asoundstream reference 200 on my highs and a reference 500 on 1 sub . I recently bought 2 Boston Acoustic g2( dual 4 ohm coils )subs , thinking my amp would push them both (500 x 1 @ .5 ohm bridged ) This didnt work out , the bass sounded horrible and I popped the 60a fuse . Then I wired 1 sub to the amp putting 500 watts into this beast . It sounds great !!However... When the amp is set to 4 volts gain to match my headunit I still blow the fuse . If I keep the gains turned down this doesn't happen , but it's not right . I have 4 gauge power and ground for the system . wich is currently running less than 700 watts to my speakers .
Does anyone know the stock alternator amperage on a 2002 chevy astro ? I think it might be 60 amps wich is very low
Could this be the root of the problem ??...
I also plan on upgrading my sub amp to something that provides 600 watts rms or more to power both 12's wich will draw more current .
Thanks for your time and I hope someone could help!!
