Does anyone know how many watts a factory/stock 2000 Ford Taurus stereo has.

Enough to require a change of headunits. Maybe 7-11w RMS.

My new headunit is going to be 18watts RMS, so I was just curious how much louder it would be. Thanks for the info.

you'll want to check the stock speaker impedance, sometimes they are like 6 or 8 ohms from the factory. leaving such a high resistance speaker but upgrading the HU will leave you at the same spot you were before, just with better quality though.
