Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 3054 Registered: Jul-05 | rest looks very good but i would not choose Ken's wood & go Premier HU instead - higher preout voltage & more features ... |
Gold Member Username: Mikechec9Http://www.cardomain.c... Post Number: 1656 Registered: May-05 | i would agree rovin, but those new excelons are bad a$.$ as far s build and sq is concerned. the old kenwood.. * but these are quite exceptional. also, besides the p9, pioneer seems to really be lacking in the presentation dpt. what do you think? |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 3060 Registered: Jul-05 | well ima pioneer Hu guy cause my older bro bought a good deck & GM120 amp brand new back in 1982 & up to now both still run good . New kenwood might b good but i prefer the looks of the Premier more , also i see that their preouts do 5v where P does 6.5v ........ |
Gold Member Username: Mikechec9Http://www.cardomain.c... Post Number: 1657 Registered: May-05 | i also like pioneer. always has been between that and alpine. but both have let me down as of late. except for their highest ends in the f#1 and p9. as far as volts go, 4volts is very good, 5volts even better, 6.5 volts is pretty darn great. agreed |
Bronze Member Username: Texas_bassHouston, TX Post Number: 56 Registered: Nov-05 | What about eclips HU are they all that good |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 3075 Registered: Jul-05 | alpine premier eclipse the 3 big guns in HU - all pretty decent ....... |
Silver Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 919 Registered: Oct-05 | so rovin you wouldn't recomend the pioneer hu? not the premier. |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 3080 Registered: Jul-05 | reg pioneer is all good & well but if u go to pioneers site & click the feature 2 do a side by side comparison of similar models say 8600 vs 860 u will see 4v vs 6.5v ..... |

Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 2145 Registered: Jul-05 | im still not sure that Rockford 1001BD will power both of those x's properly |
Bronze Member Username: Texas_bassHouston, TX Post Number: 58 Registered: Nov-05 | it puts out 1000rms at 2 ohms ant the swx are 1000rms each with 4 ohm dvc |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 2159 Registered: Jul-05 | thats only 500 rms to each sub, if that was the case just get type r's |
Bronze Member Username: Texas_bassHouston, TX Post Number: 59 Registered: Nov-05 | even when wired parallel they only be getting 500 each |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 2165 Registered: Jul-05 | yep |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 2166 Registered: Jul-05 | u would only powering each sub by half, and if u got the type r's u would be powering them fully. With that amp the r's would sound alot better |
Silver Member Username: TdbdadrummerPost Number: 738 Registered: Aug-05 | I'll vouch for the Kenwoods. Especially the Excelons, I own one :P. Great SQ IMO, and the build with the motorized faceplate is great like Mike said. You won't find things on the Kenwoods that you do on the Pioneers. For example, Pioneer offers the cheap presets of like "SUPER BASS" and such. Kenwood has LOTS of bells in whistles in the tuning dept. but you won't find the cheap thrill stuff like Pioneer and Sony and other brands throw in. (Personally, I don't like super bass hehehe) |
Bronze Member Username: Texas_bassHouston, TX Post Number: 60 Registered: Nov-05 | If thats the case ill get 2 Rockford p8002 800rms X 1 (bridged) @ 4 Ohms Tyler Im also getting the 13 band eq to go under the HU for quick adjustments |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 2169 Registered: Jul-05 | what does that amp put out at 2 ohms, because since u have a dvc 4 ohm sub u can wire it to a 2 ohm or 8 ohm load. |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 2170 Registered: Jul-05 | u could use this, not the best but it will make the x's sound nice http://cgi.ebay.com/2300HCQ-AMPLIFIER-CHROME-AUDIOBAHN-AMP_W0QQitemZ5832901482QQ categoryZ48597QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |
Bronze Member Username: Texas_bassHouston, TX Post Number: 61 Registered: Nov-05 | 400rms X 2 @ 2 ohms are you talking about 2 ohms or 8 ohms per speaker or total depending on how i run them |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 2171 Registered: Jul-05 | if u where to wire each amp to each sub u could only make a 2ohm or 8ohm load. so each sub would only be getting 400 rms. |
Bronze Member Username: Texas_bassHouston, TX Post Number: 62 Registered: Nov-05 | ok so im looking at having each one at 2 ohms What would be the best thing for them and i want to keep it under $900-950 for the amp or each amp that i need to do so |

Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Gold Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 1039 Registered: Oct-05 | i am not a big fan of eq or crossovers. if i were you i would setup the system first to see how it sounds. good amps and HUs have great built in features. |
