i just got a 1990 240sx hatchback and I am ready to buy a stereo. I am looking for maximum spl and i dont really care about trunk space. Will there be any noise cancellation issues due to the lack of trunk space around the sub if I decide to get something like a 15" sub with a huge custom box or even 2 12s? Or..does it not matter at all since I am in a hatchback? What do u guys think...

No there shouldnt be as long as that sub has room to hit to its full potential. it depends on ur subs as to how much they would hit oh and ur amp. but if u have a huge box and the trunk is almost full because of it, its not really gonna matter as long as that sub is free to hit.not having a lot of space left will give u a load of bass if in a sealled box and the right amp is paired up with the subs

allow a few inches from the sub to the car so that the sound waves have a chance to move.

What about in a 1990 Dodge Ram van?
(sorry to interupt, Raymond)
Would it have a good theoretical potential to pound f,u,c,k,i,n,g hard? Or is that just a little TOO much space?
