Post Number: 1484 Registered: May-05 | not truly certain of your question, but no, +2 watts won't blow your sub. your sub blows when you have too much heat in the vc, or the sub extends beyond it's mechanical limits. i prefer about 50% above rms (or at least an additional 100 watts) to allow for headroom/peaks in the music. proper tuning is necessary. |

Post Number: 1495 Registered: May-05 | no. underpowering your subs is not harmful. however, you stand a better chance of blowing your sub by pushing your amp into clipping to compensate for the loss of 50 watts than by adding the extra power for headroom. it depends on how aggressive you are. it also depends on the subs though. they may not have a TRUE rms of 250w. in which case 200 watts would be sweet. |
