What makes an amp stable at 1 ohm. Why is it harder for an amp to put out power with less resistance?

I read that site. What I took from it is that there is an amount of watts that an amp expects to put out. If the ohm load is too small, the amp will fail. My question is why some amps can go down to lower ohm levels than others. Thanks for the link.

Amp manufacturer's made it that way for different applications

eg - if u had a 1000wrms 4 ohms dvc sub then u would need a 1000wrms @ 2ohms stable amp

if its a 1000wrms 2 ohms dvc sub then u would need a 1000wrms @ 1ohm stable amp

Some manufacturers have amp models catering for both needs eg JBL has their 1200.1 (@2ohms) & 1100.1 (@1OHM) amp models ............

How well the amp is made, how well they decipate heat, the channels and how they are/can be bridged, etc... It usually comes down to how much heat is created.
