New member Username: E_cachoPost Number: 2 Registered: Oct-05 | im having trouble deciding on weather to get alpine R-types 12" or JL W3 12". ive heard alpine usualy pounds harder but the clarity on the Jl's is better. i need to know what would sound better in the trunk of a large car. also would a Kenwood KAC-9102D with 1700 Watt max and 500W RMS (4 OHM ) , 850W RMS (2 OHM) be enough to power 2 subs of either brand. |

Forget both of those, infinity 12.1 or JBL powers are better for sound quality. the Kappa perfect hits 18hz and its only 350RMS, so u wont need a huge amp. 1 of those rattles my brothers audi. |

Silver Member Username: Robert_dMIA, FL USA Post Number: 350 Registered: Sep-05 | alex you need to chill listen to other people before you start typing all this stuff hifonics is king of the crap class amps that should be a last resort kicker makes good amps i dont know much bout jl audio to much $$ for me but for the type R's people say you need to push them to around 700 rms till they start to get there real power out although if you go with the type R's a kx1200.1 will do you very well |

Silver Member Username: UcfsaxmanOviedo/orlando, Fl Post Number: 271 Registered: May-05 | first thing you need to do is look at another brand of amps. i'm not sure what your budget but you could try JBL, Kicker, older Rockford Fosgate, Mtx. as far as subs I like the JL w3 more. i've heard the type R before and i wasn't that impressed. I woyuld go w/ the JL w3. |
