I have had my system for 3 months and one of my subs just died and i think another is bout to go out because it is hittin the rim like it is overpower but i thought i had it set up to where that couldnt happen
My System Subs= 4 Kicker CVR 10s Dvc 4ohm 300rms wired down to 2ohms in Ported boxes Amp= Xtant 1001 X 1000watts 2ohm stable
The book on the amps says 200amp Alternator and 1/0gauge wire That seemed high for a 1000 watt amp since 1000watts should draw around 70amps I have a 160HOalt. with 4gauge wire and 3 40amp round fuses ,for better current, The amp is set less than halff way. Maybe pushin less than that cause of of my wiring and alternator
I thought i matched it up good so i cant find anyreason why my subs would go out
Well for one thing, since one sub blew, it sounds like the other one probably has double the airspace, thus it's going to take less power to get it to max out mechanically.
Also, a 1000 RMS amp is going to pull like 100 amps, after efficiency. (Amp draw: 1000 / 12 = 83.33.... Efficiency: 83.33 * 1.2 = 100)
