The Pioneer DEH-P860MP has been extremely popular and I must admit has the best bang for the buck.

i have a jvc lh810 that is really nice. nice clear sound quality at loud volume, and hardly any distortion... all the menus are straightforward and easy to use. a big display that shows artist and song title, as well as animations and such (if you want)
