Like most, the high cost of fuel is prompting me to look at a more fuel effecient family vehicle, in this case, a Pontiac Vibe (same as a Toyota Matrix). But, I don't want to sacrifice fidelity for frugality.
This vehicle will accept 6.5 midbass drivers in the doors, but with a maximum mounting depth of around 2.5 inches. Within that constraint, which component set would give the best fidelity?
I also plan to use an AM head unit, JL E2150 amp, and Infinity Basslink (easily removable). Any other suggestions?
Finally, the OEM "Monsoon" 7 speaker system is a $255 or so option. Is it worthwhile to get this for the tweeter mounts/grills and subwoofer enclosure? Will putting a component sub/amp in the stock location be worthwhile as compared to a Basslink?
