Anonymous | I heard that the fosgate 800@2 amps heat up quite easily. has anyone had experiences with these amps? and also, i've read in posts that these 800s really put out 1000 watts. is that true? |
Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 1966 Registered: Dec-03 | pretty decent amplifiers. they are class D, and about 80% efficient, so they shouldn't get that hot unless you've got them running pretty hard. Then any amp is going to get toasty, but not to the point it'd cause any trouble. as for the real output, you'd need to put the amp on a dummy load and test it with a scope to see for sure, but they probably are a bit under-rated. just used two RF amps in an RX-8. a 4 channel, and a monoblock. |
Anonymous | are tney really class d's? i'm talkin bout the older ones, not the newer ones. the older ones that look like waffle grills. how would i do a dummy load? would i need anything to test it with? |
