Alpines are cheap & would do well Mono amps are used for subs Alarm - check each popular brand's website . Need to know about brands in general ? ! http://pub14.ezboard.com/fcaraudiotalkfrm27.showMessage?topicID=27.topic Ebay or online purchases are your choice .... |

Alpines, MTX 9500's, and Cerwin Vega Vmax's are designed to get loud (not as loud as Stroker/Solobarics by a long shot), and still sound good at high levels. IMO any of those three (Alpine, MTX, or the Cerwin Vega's) will work best for you. In ranking, I would say 1. Cerwin Vega 2. Alpine and 3. MTX. The Alpines, though, might have slightly better SQ than the Cerwin Vega's, but the Cerwin Vega's will get louder than all three I believe. |
New member Username: XdreamSherman oaks, Ca Post Number: 2 Registered: Oct-05 | wow thx for the quick replys! basically this is what im looking for. i have 2 vmaxs 12's the 1 generation back ones. they are cool but they dont really have a lot of bass. i made custom speakers out of them powered by a crown xls 402 as my dj speakers. they give a good pound but they dont reall have that much bass but they get loud. what i want is like vibrations and ground shaking bass. i was just thinking i would put better speakers inside the car later to make it more pleasant. i just want my car to be heard like a block away. and to be hit really hard outside of the car. and whats spl and sq? |

Ask Isaac about his new JL 12W7, I think he said it gets LOUD, but it's REALLY low (freqencywise). The Vmax's are probably the same as they reach 20Hz, but not as high quality as a JL W7. What you're saying doesn't make sense, you're saying they're loud, but have no bass? What?!?!? |
New member Username: XdreamSherman oaks, Ca Post Number: 3 Registered: Oct-05 | well i dunno i guess. ok so if i went with 1 - 15 s15l7 what kinda amp would i need? and would it bump as hard as im describing? or would i need 2 -15s? and if i got 2 -15s would i need another amp? |
Silver Member Username: TdbdadrummerPost Number: 598 Registered: Aug-05 | L7...something with 1000W RMS. Remember, they have a high failure rate, when run at nominal levels. Just a word of advice. Something like the SX or XXX from RE Audio would get louder or just as loud, sound a LOT better without the high failure rate, and you won't be back here complaining a few months from now about how your Solobarics cracked, tore, etc. |
New member Username: XdreamSherman oaks, Ca Post Number: 4 Registered: Oct-05 | damn im just so not sure what to get then. i just wanan get a sub + amp combo that will hit harddd while in a car trunk. both inside and outside. especially outside |
New member Username: XdreamSherman oaks, Ca Post Number: 5 Registered: Oct-05 | oh and will 1 sub accomplish what im looking for or will i need 2. i would love to get the 13.5 w7 but i cant afford that and a amp. but thats the sound im looking for but for cheaper. |
Silver Member Username: CaraudioToronto, Ontario Canada Post Number: 299 Registered: Sep-05 | If i could id reccomend a Panasonic deck not bad at all and not a buget biter either. 2 12's go for somthing 1000RMS Mono Amp or 2 CHannal i dont think it matters as much. Some Dynamat for your trunk for shore. Some COmponents Infinity is great for that a good bumping system needs good speakers you can actually turn it up all the way with out hearing shatterd Vocals. |
Silver Member Username: TdbdadrummerPost Number: 600 Registered: Aug-05 | For the price of a Panasonic, you can get something better like Pioneer or Kenwood. The Kenwood KDC-X589 goes for like $130 on E-Bay if you look hard enough. If you want components, I'm going to have to say buy Polk, they have a much more natural sound. Get an RE SX and an amp. It will get PLENTY loud enough for you. |
New member Username: XdreamSherman oaks, Ca Post Number: 6 Registered: Oct-05 | ok after doing research i think im just gonna get a stroker. this one http://cgi.ebay.com/Cerwin-Vega-Stroker-12-Inch-Subwoofer-12-Sub-New-NR_W0QQitem Z5817738889QQcategoryZ18803QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem is one enough? and whats a good amp to make this bump? also say i get a amp for it but then decide i want 2 strokers instead of one would i be able to use it or would i need another amp? |
New member Username: XdreamSherman oaks, Ca Post Number: 7 Registered: Oct-05 | or should i get 2 v-max? and what kinda power would i need to make the v's bump as hard as they can? |

Post Number: 1386 Registered: Jul-05 | SQ = sound quality SQL = sound quality but plays it loud SPL = sound pressure level = totally loud with with no reguards on SQ SPL - I think that is where those Strokers will play . I can't positively say on their new model but i heard a pair of their older 15s & they are EXTREMELY loud but inside the car it sounds like just noise with no real SQ . It did pound & u could feel the vibrations on the concrete floor on a 2nd story but its a more high freq bassline . If thats what u want they thats your ticket - u will need some serious amp , alternator & battery upgrades though . I personally don't like that much noise & prefer SQL .... |
New member Username: XdreamSherman oaks, Ca Post Number: 8 Registered: Oct-05 | ok they are kinda expensive what do u guys think about 1 15" eclipse titantium sub? would that hit hard and what kinda amp would i need for that? |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 1390 Registered: Jul-05 | Isn't Eclpise a bit expensive too ? & it'll take 1/3 of your budget What i would have done is start looking @ HU 1st then amps/subs cause without a good Hu your whole system will be in a mess . look @ Premier & Alpine HU ........ |
New member Username: XdreamSherman oaks, Ca Post Number: 9 Registered: Oct-05 | what would u recommend for a head unit? i dont think i have more then $300 to spend on one. i would like it to be less then that if possible? can i get something good? it must have mp3 and cd-r cap. |

That would be my choice if I were you... I have two 12" Ti's for sale, one's brand new. |

A very popular choice is Premier 860 model - its around $300 online + s/h here's a good all-round general car audio guide http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/S-syypDCiCg76/learningcenter/car/ |
