Gold Member Username: Taylor17Kopperl, Texas Post Number: 3100 Registered: Jan-05 | Just wondering, whats the biggest amp made? I know Zapco, and Audiobahn make a 4000 watt rms amp, but I've never saw anything bigger than that. |
Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfWisteria, Lane USA Post Number: 10699 Registered: Dec-03 | I've seen a 6500 watt amp, and I believe one rated for nine or ten thousand watts, but I really don't recall who made them.. I saw articles in passing and just sort of nodded and said "hmm" but figured the current needed to run those amps was so ridiculous that it made them novelties more than useful products you'd see someone actually buy for a system, street or competition. |

Gold Member Username: Taylor17Kopperl, Texas Post Number: 3102 Registered: Jan-05 | Lol yeah, and the price tag would be rediculas. I know the Zapco you're basically paying $1 per watt. 4000 watts... $4000 amp.:-) The Audiobahn on the other hand isn't so expencive. |

Gold Member Username: Taylor17Kopperl, Texas Post Number: 3121 Registered: Jan-05 | Well, if you feel like spending some money, the Zapco is a good choice. The Audiobahn 4K is only like $1500... but still another choice. And last but not least, you could power each with a Rockford T30001BD...:-) |
Silver Member Username: James_gTN Post Number: 304 Registered: Jul-05 | I wonder what the actual output from that Audiobahn amp would be? I don't recall the models, but I remember seeing a few Soundstream amps online that were massive. Seems like I recall one of them priced at $17,000. LOL. |
Gold Member Username: Taylor17Kopperl, Texas Post Number: 3131 Registered: Jan-05 | Lol thats a lot. I'm guessing the audiobahn is overrated, but I'd guess it should push 3000 watts at least? |
Silver Member Username: James_gTN Post Number: 305 Registered: Jul-05 | I found one of those Soundstream amps at Woofersetc.com. It's the XXX-5000D. They have it priced at $11,500.00. LMAO. Can anyone confirm whether or not Power Acoustik owns Soundstream now? I've seen this posted many times here and elsewhere. |

Bronze Member Username: B101Queen City, NC USA Post Number: 20 Registered: Sep-05 | I seen someone plug in a saw to the speaker output on a ZAPCO and then started sawing up a old speaker box. It was just amazing! The DMM on the speaker output was putting off like 110 volts AC!~ They had that amp turned up for real... |
