Need4Bass Unregistered guest | I can fit 4 8s sealed or 2 10s ported. What would play louder? Have more "punch"? I can supply 1000RMS into 2 ohms or 700RMS into 4 ohms. Thanks, Actually I have the 8s but I am not satisfied. |

Need4Bass Unregistered guest | Now there's a guy that know's his specs. I like the power into a 4 ohm load. I also like the amp link feather with Alpine HUs. Who is DD? |

Need4Bass Unregistered guest | Looking for more SQ than SPL. I just don't think I get the output I should from 4 8s and 700 watts. I used to get the same volume levels with one ported 10 and a lot less power. |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 1104 Registered: Jul-05 | sorry - i left ya hanging , went out 4 lunch . Do u like Diamond Audio subs - said to be more of SQ than SPL 2 of these http://sonicelectronix.com/item_5530.html or 2 Image Dynamics subs http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/tech_page.php?name=ID10D2%20V.3&type=sub&id=id this should suit your needs ..... |
Bronze Member Username: HomegrowncamWatauga, TX United States Post Number: 93 Registered: Jan-05 | I average 115-120 dbs with my 3 sealed 8w6s but if you get 2 really really good 10s and power the right then I would say you are set. |
Need4Bass Unregistered guest | I'll spend up to $750 for the subs and a box if I have to, I just don't know if I am expecting too much or not. I have 4 8s currently in a sealed enclosure and I have great SQ but, the output just isn't there. I have tried several amps with little noticible differenct. Now I am considering different 8s or maybe 2 10s. My problem is that I have limited space. To fit 10s that face forward is very difficult because I only have 9.5" of mounting space at best. If I fire them up or down, I am limited to about 6" in depth. I I think I'd loose SQ shooting right into a seat or the floor. I cuurently have the 4 8s firing forward. Being a truck, the wave is not traveling very far before reaching me. |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 1107 Registered: Jul-05 | I would have said JL too cause i think they are the ultimate SQ subs but he has not posted a budget ... |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 1108 Registered: Jul-05 | Oh - u posted whilst i was typing - lol why don't u reg , dude !? .... |

Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 1114 Registered: Jul-05 | Kool ! - seeing what tight space u have i'd have 2 say 4 JL 8s ...... |
New member Username: Need4bassPost Number: 7 Registered: Oct-05 | All other factors the same, could I really expect to hear that much difference by replacing the 4 Polk Momo 8s with say some JL w6 s??? |
Bronze Member Username: HomegrowncamWatauga, TX United States Post Number: 94 Registered: Jan-05 | Well they don't make the 8w6s anymore now you can only goto the 8w7 or the 8w3v2. With your budget though you would have to go with the 8w3v2. |
Bronze Member Username: Need4bassPost Number: 11 Registered: Oct-05 | Ok, same question then. Would I notice that much of a difference using the w3s? |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 2077 Registered: Aug-05 | my single 2500 10" DD does hit at least 130 now with my new amp, but i have a 1.7cuft. ported box for my single 10 as well. |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 1133 Registered: Jul-05 | Checking back on the majority of 10" subs ,their heights are only like 5-6" tall . Are u sure 2 10s or even 4 10s wouldn't fit ? |
Bronze Member Username: Need4bassPost Number: 14 Registered: Oct-05 | I don't have the air space for 4. I have about 1.2 cubes per side. I don't have the face to fire them forward or back, only up or down. The 10's that I looked at were deeper that 6". I'm not to crazy about rattling my seat or floor eiter. |
Gold Member Username: CarguyPost Number: 4587 Registered: Nov-04 | Have you heard of JL 10W7 in a HO box? It might solve all your problem. It is loud and gives excellent SQ for 500w - 600w. Before you diss the rms power numbers, hear one in person. |
Silver Member Username: ChriskleinPost Number: 260 Registered: Aug-05 | I am totally confused how you could only go with 2 10's when you have enough room for 4 8's. With that many 8's i would have to say that you should be able to put 3-4 10's in there instead. If you cant go ported then go sealed. |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 1134 Registered: Jul-05 | Well i was checking this out 4 u cause u said u wanted more SQ - its 5 1/2" tall http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/tech_page.php?name=ID10D4%20V.3&type=sub&id=id |
Bronze Member Username: Need4bassPost Number: 16 Registered: Oct-05 | Rovin - I know looks aren't everything but they look a little, well feeble. Ultimate - As I stated before, I have air space but not the physical mounting area. |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 1135 Registered: Jul-05 | U got me there cause i'm seriously wanting to buy 2 12s IDQ & they look pretty ordinary but who knows how ID's engineers do it . The 12 IDmax - NOW THATS IMPRESSIVE , that u can close your eyes & use your fingers to tell its great - lol check some reviews of any sub on www.carreview.com here are some close up pics of 12s for your viewing pleasure .....lol |
