well i wanted to know because my box just blew up and it was 3/4 " mdf all th eway around and it was vented, i want the same box but 1.5 cu. ft' each side, with 1"mdf, anyone know of any sites or people, ill take what i can get
from what i understand sealed boxes will technically hit lower frequencies then ported or bandpass. but w/ ported you tune the box to a certain frequency to give it a boost at that frequency so it is a louder setup.

are you depending on internal resonance to amp the sound of a lower frequency in a sealed box vs. a ported box?
no i'm saying if your doin a bass cd or somethin and you bottom out the subs in a well designed professionally made sealed enclosure granted the subs are decent and you don't have a subsonic filter on the amp the subs should go as low as they are meant to play. and in a ported box the sound will " cut off" at some point depedning on the box's tuning Frequency. this is what i've been told by local MECP installers i have never used ported b/c i have always had multiple subs and small cars
anything ported or bandpass rolls off steeply or has to be filtered just below the tuned frequency. The tuned frequency should, and usually is higher than the Fs of the driver as well.
