I have some cheap 4 channel amp that says that it produces 100W rms @4 ohm and 125W rms @2 ohm. The amplifier has two 25 amp fuses in it(total 50amps) Does this fuse speak anything about the actual power this amp provides. Can u please tell me how much this current this amp draws from my alternator. Even if the amp does not provide the power it is rated at, will it draw the same amount of current from alternator providing poor efficiency. I have a mustang 2005 whose alternator is rated at 82 amps/idle and 132amp/max. So how much current am i left with after installing this amplifier including the current needed for the battery charging, AC and other electrical stuff. How Much more power can i get in the form of an extra two channel amp without upgrading the stock alternator..Thanks for the help
if each channel is 125wRMS @ 2 ohm, giving to a total of 500wRMS from the four channels. it will pull approximately 58A of current from your alternator at full power.
